Agenda This presentation will cover a variety of topics to help a utility gather data and visibility in the water distribution system with a variety of technologies. Throughout the training, there will be a discussion on how this technology can not only provide more data from the field, but it will provide solutions to help everyone stay safe during the day to day tasks. Topics Include:
* Geographic Information System (GIS) – We will cover GIS for beginners and offer information on best practices to help start and grow a GIS map.
* Remote Monitoring – A review of what remote monitoring technology is, and the different applications. This technology is designed to help a utility gain visibility in remote locations for pressure spikes, and other common issues. Remote monitoring also provides data to help reduce non-revenue water.
* Leak Detection – A survey of best practices for leak detection and some discussion of new technology for the industry.
* Meter Technology Advancements – We will take a quick look at new technologies in the meter industry including improved accuracy of meters, advanced meter reading, and alarms and warnings available through the meters and radios.
