Agenda The federal Lead and Copper Rule Long Term Revisions are here! This training will review the new requirements being put into law right now. State implementation schedules will be shared so that you can plan accordingly to keep your water system in compliance. Rule revisions include lead service line inventories for all non-transient systems, earlier public notification requirements for Lead Exceedances, and a lower ‘trigger level’ for corrosion control treatment evaluations.
We know that drinking water fixtures marketed through January 2014 contained up to 8% lead content which readily leaches into our drinking water when water quality is aggressive and sits stagnant in premise plumbing. This course will review water characteristics which contribute to water corrosivity, what the typical corrosion control treatments are, when you might choose not to treat the corrosion and instead remove the lead from the water, and the application issues in the field for sizing, installing, and maintaining these systems.
***Operators are encouraged to come to this seminar with their test results so we can discuss some real life examples.
