Agenda The training session will focus on the origin of PFAS compounds, their pervasiveness in the environment, and impact on water and wastewater systems. By bringing together local water system operators, treatment system providers, and technical and laboratory experts, the session will address current and developing PFAS standards for drinking water and wastewater/biosolids in New Hampshire and surrounding states, sampling and analyses considerations, and treatment techniques for dealing with it in drinking water supplies. Several case studies from New England will be presented to illustrate the impacts of PFAS on utilities and the continuing evolving technical and regulatory landscape which dictate the challenges utilities are facing with regards to compliance and public perception. Examples of the currently accepted approaches to treatment will be discussed, along with the related effectiveness, costs, and maintenance aspects of the respective systems.
